Event Details

Whilst rail patronage continues to grow, the broader role of railway stations is expanding, with stations becoming city gateways, ‘destination’ properties and community / housing hubs.

Rail and station operators, local authorities, developers and other stakeholders are finding new ways to release land value, unlock significant residential development, open up complex sites and drive revenues.

This year’s event, the 18th in a very popular series, is highly regarded for bringing together great speakers and delivering real insights. For 2020 it will explore how local authorities, the property sector and the railways are working together to meet today’s challenges and make the most of new opportunities.

The Transport Knowledge Hub comes at a vital time for our transport networks. As our population continues to grow and our roads become more congested, public transport has an increasingly important role to play in keeping our country moving. Investment in local transport infrastructure, such as rail networks and bus services, can have a huge impact on development and economic growth in local areas, so I’m delighted that the Hub will provide the guidance and expertise local decision makers need to make effective investments.

Sir Peter Hendy, Chairman of Network Rail
