Fujitsu publish Transport Survey

View original

Research commissioned by Fujitsu has found that 34% of the British public think the public transport sector is not fit for purpose. 72% of consumers are calling for greater investment into the sector to modernise services as 49% of respondents felt that the sector was outdated. The research also found that 29% of commuters spent between 45 minutes and two hours commuting to work each day and half of passengers did not trust public transport to get them to a destination on time. Fujitsu is advocating for greater integration of technology and public transport in order to improve reliability and customer satisfaction.

The Transport Knowledge Hub comes at a vital time for our transport networks. As our population continues to grow and our roads become more congested, public transport has an increasingly important role to play in keeping our country moving. Investment in local transport infrastructure, such as rail networks and bus services, can have a huge impact on development and economic growth in local areas, so I’m delighted that the Hub will provide the guidance and expertise local decision makers need to make effective investments.
