More rail passengers to use smart tickets

The Rail Delivery Group announced that they expect 9 in 10 rail tickets to be available to customers as smart tickets by the end of the month, following the installation of readers at major stations. Upgrades to allow smart tickets were made at Waterloo, Brighton, Gatwick Airport, Edinburgh Waverley and Glasgow Central stations. The increased availability of smart tickets was welcomed by the sector.
