As reported by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, a survey commissioned by the North West Hydrogen Alliance (NWHA) shows 69% of people believe it is important for every UK household to move away from fossil fuelled cars in favour of lower-carbon alternatives such as electricity and hydrogen. The sample of 2000 people shows inter-generational differences in opinion related to the use of low-carbon fuels. Nearly 80% of 16-34 year olds advocate the move to low-carbon fuelled cars, compared to 58% for those over 55. 60% of 16-24s have considered buying an electric car compared to 27% of over 55s. The study also showed over half (56%) of respondents correctly identified transportation is the single largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in the UK, making up 23% of all emissions.
