New London transport commissioner appointed

Transport for London has announced that Andy Byford has been appointed as Transport Commissioner for London. His most recent role was President and CEO of New York City Transit Authority. He will begin working at TfL on 29 June, while the current Commissioner, Mike Brown MVO, will stay in place until 10 July to hand over. Andy Byford has also preciously worked for the Toronto Transit Commission, the Rail Corporation New South Wales in Australia, Southern Railway, South Easter Trains Limited, and London Underground Limited.
