Rail crew shortages lead to 35,000 train cancellations

Analysis by the Times has shown that 35,030 train services were cancelled in the past year because of a lack of available train crew. This marks an increase of more than a third compared to the previous year and a fivefold increase compared to six years ago. Crew shortages, usually the unavailability of drivers, accounted for more than one in five of train cancellations.
