The Scottish Government has stated they will run ScotRail as an “operator of last resort” if the rail network fails to improve. The news comes amid ScotRail receiving their second improvement notice in February this year, less than two months after passenger satisfaction was revealed to have fallen to its lowest level in 15 years.
