The Telegraph has reported that Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps has stated that the Government will introduce new laws on strikes in the Queen’s Speech on Thursday. The new legislation is intended to prevent trade union leaders from affecting passengers during industrial disputes. It is expected that the Bill will guarantee minimum service requirements on transport services, such as trains and busses, in order to ensure services can “continue to operate”.
