12 November 2018, Transport Knowledge Hub Scotland event on sustainable transport and housing

Transport Knowledge Hub Events

On 12 November, the Transport Knowledge Hub hosted an event in Scotland. Chaired by Gerard Whelan of Corporate Finance, Government and Infrastructure at KMPG, the national forum heard some of the early findings of new research undertaken by KPMG on sustainable transport and housing and highlighted the role that sound sustainable transport investment can play in unlocking the benefits of new housing. Speakers included Martin Griffiths (Stagecoach Plc), Craig Sanderson (Link Housing), Cllr Susan Aitken (Glasgow City Council) and Cllr Lesley Mcinnes (Edinburgh City Council).

The Transport Knowledge Hub is a fantastic resource and I’m really excited about the opportunity to explore how we can maximise its use among transport stakeholders. In the South East Midlands, investing in local transport infrastructure has unlocked significant economic growth. The Hub offers a formal framework for sharing expertise with decision makers around the UK, as well as learning from the experience of others. This will enable more investment to be directed towards  local and sustainable forms of transport.
